Safety, products and what we do about allergies

You are letting somebody into your home to look after your child and her friends. Here is exactly how that is handled, in full, rather than as a line in a footer.

Every parent completes a signed waiver before the party covering allergies, sensitivities, activities to opt out of, additional needs and photography consent. Face masks are patch tested on each child before being applied properly. All products used are non-toxic and child appropriate.

DBS checked

Abigail holds a current DBS check. Ask to see the certificate at any point and it will be shown to you, before or on the day.

Public liability insurance

The business carries public liability insurance covering the equipment used and the activities run. Details available on request.

The waiver, and why it comes first

Before the party, every parent is sent a waiver to complete and sign. It asks about allergies and sensitivities, anything you would rather your child did not take part in, any additional needs we should know about, and whether you are happy for photographs to be taken. We read it properly and tailor the party to it. If one child cannot use a product, we change it for that child rather than leaving her out.

What actually goes on their skin

The face and eye masks are made fresh on the day from things like yogurt, cucumber and fruit, so you can see exactly what is in them. Lip balms are coconut oil based. The perfumes are water based with natural scent drops. Nail polish and make-up are child-friendly brands, and the exact products vary a little depending on what is in stock, which is why the waiver matters. There is no skincare with active ingredients anywhere in the party, and nothing is sold as a treatment.

Patch testing

Every child is patch tested for the face mask before it is applied properly. It takes a moment and it is not optional.

Hygiene

Foot spas are filled fresh for each child and emptied afterwards. Tools are cleaned between children. Anything that cannot be properly cleaned is single use.

Food and drink

The only thing the children consume is sparkling pink lemonade. Everything else in the party goes on skin or hair, not in mouths, and the younger ones are supervised accordingly.

Photographs

We never photograph a child whose parent has not ticked the box on the waiver, and consent for photographs you keep is separate from consent for anything we might use ourselves. You can change your mind afterwards and we will remove the photograph.

Additional needs

Tell us on the waiver what helps and what does not. Quieter, slower, fewer activities, a different order, somewhere to step away to: all of it is possible. We shape the party around the child rather than asking her to fit around the party.

Can boys come too?

Yes. Say so when you book and we will tailor the party so it works for everybody in the room.

What if the children are different ages?

Easily handled, and very common. We build the afternoon so that there is something every age genuinely enjoys rather than pitching it all at the youngest or the oldest.
